In the register of births revealed till now, we found Sconda registrations from the middle of XIIIrd Century, partly in the Upper Hungary, partly around Miskolc. The Skondas were Catholic. One part of them started smaller family branches, others only small fragments. We present them, supposing, that they could be completed or  connected.

It is hard to trace the family, because their appearance happened to be after the Turks, when the intensive  movement of the population was characteristic. Other hand, because they were craftsmen, so the have not been in the censuses.

Andreas Sconda (about 1719 – 1789). He lived, had children and died in Pány. His year of births is only calculated from his year of death. The register of births in the village was started only in from 1752, so his origin is unknown. We could follow the descendents until the middle of XIX. Century.

Adamus Sconda (about 1743). He got married in Miskolc/Görömböly twice, first with Mária Mihalka, than Catharina Kohányi, in the years of 1773 and 1778. In The register of births, he was registered as miller lessee. They have no more trace.

Skonda Éva has born in 1744, in Kalocsin as daughter of Joannes Skonda (about 1724 -....) and Maria Dubnicajka.  There is not more data from the family. Joannes Skonda (about 1724 – 1778) got married in Jászómindszent, in 1758, with Éva Csontos, than with Éva Varga, and has died in Aranyhida. His descendants make up our Family Tree, which could be traced up today.

The first known Skonda residences

Elisabetha Skonda (about 1761 – 1857), who was the wife of Baltazar Gots, lived and died in Jászó.

The children of
Joannes Sconda (about 1774) and Elisabeth Pistsák have born in Apátka, than Miskolc/Hámor. They had yet grandson here, but no more trace after.

No more data is known from
Sconda József (17.. – 1812) in Miskolc/Érmindszent.

Anna Skonda (about 1780 – 1850) and her husband Stephanus Takács, Maria Skonda (about 1790 – 1844), and her husband Andreas Kasko, Catharina Skonda (about 1792 – 1846), and her husband Joannes Kis, lived in Makranc. Their places of birth are unknown.

The detailed data of a person, except the
Family Tree, can be found in the Family Tree Fragments, where alphabetical index helps to find the names and places. The names are in the form of register of births. The database can be reached by clicking the underlined text.

There are Scondas living in Ukraine, but we have only one connection.
It would be nice to learn their family tree and history.

The name is also known in Cyprus, but no connection succeeded.

We have not found the name in the Czech phone book. .

There are 17 Skonda  in the Italian phone book, in 2007. The more of them live in a smaller region of Calabria, around Mileto.

Four male Skonda live in Hungary, in 2007 (grand father, father and his sons).
